A woman's perfume tells more about her then her handwriting. - Christian Dior
Ever since I was a little girl I've loved perfumes, something about them made the Ariel in me sing...you know because she likes to collect pretty things and only wants more? You get it. The first perfume I ever owned was Britney Spear's Circus, a just-because-I-can gift from my dad. Although my collection has grown since then its still one of my favourites!
Now, as the winter season looms over Canberra and I'm switching my corals to plums, I to am shaking up my scent wardrobe, and so, I'd like to share with you some of the (if you will) flava's I've been wearing these past gloomy days!
Love Struck Floral Rush by Vera Wang
Notes: Musk, Cashmere Wood, Pink Pepper, Apricot Wood, Marigold, Pink Passion Flower
First of all, can we just admire how bad-ass this bottle looks? Honestly - just look at it. Its defiantly one for your dresser table! The bows a gorgeous fabric, and the purple is to die for - also the bouquet on the top? I'm not saying you should buy this perfume just because of how cute it is...I'm just saying it helps!
Now - scent wise, champagne and pink pepper linger on the top, whilst ambergris and musk act as the base notes - although this doesn't sound like a typically sweet combination, I can bet you five bucks, this smells as sweet as any candy store you've been in...with a floral tinge of course. It smells like sugar coated roses in my opinion. Its delicate and feminine, something suitable to the office and the club (or the bedroom).
Now I know, florals are typically associated with Spring and all things colourful, I find that a
good bright scent helps brighten up even the coldest of winter days!
Daisy by Marc Jacobs
Notes: Jasmine, Gardenia, Violet, Raspberry, Violet Leaf, Crisp Apple
I have to admit, I didn't quite fall into the Daisy train as easily as others seemed to, I know, shame on me - but I just couldn't get it. So I stayed away from buying this beauty until late last year...and I regret nothing...expect not buying this sooner.
I particularly like this scent because its largely unobtrusive whilst still being nice, I don't know how else to describe it other then just being plain ole nice and not plain ole, in the patronising way but in the way that makes you say 'Hey, I really want to wear that on my body.' Note wise it starts with a citrus sparkle and fruity tinges, leading onto a my-skin-but better musk and sandlewood base.
This is my go-to perfume for university, as the floral gives me a pick me up, but I don't feel like I'm leaving a trail of smell behind me as I walk. If I had to describe it in three words it would be a sweet-wallpaper-scent.
Kim Kardashian by Kim Kardashian
Notes: Jasmine, Turberous, Gardenia, Tonka Beans, Jacaranda Beans, Sandlewood, Orange Blossom
Firstly, I apologise for breaking one of the cardinal rules of perfume ownership - NEVER LOSE THE LID! I first smelt this perfume on a co-worker (Creepy, I know) but I had to ask her what it was, low and behind it was this lovely bottle of goodness!
This scent is way more winter-toned then the previous to, cosy and comfortable, sultry and sexy - its defiantly something for play. Its also lovely and feminine, the Jasmine and the Gardenia REALLY shine. With Jasmine being one of my favourite flowers, there was of course going to be in my most used, indeed I don't think theres been a time since I've brought this that I haven't had it in my rotation.
Are there any perfumes that you can't stop smelling?
Let me know, Stay Shiny!
